ITW DQ 2 (b) What answers might wilderness hold that can't be found within the bounds of civilization?

  1. I think that the wilderness provides us with a knowledge about animals and other life that cannot be understood within bounds of civilization. In civilization, we showcase animals, and throw them in zoos even though it is not their habitat. I think that if we actually saw them in their habitat we would comprehend that they have such right to roam freely as we do.

  2. I believe that wilderness provides many benefits for our youth that cannot be found within the bounds of civilization. We get a deeper understanding of animals and their habitats. How we could see their innate behaviors in a normal community rather than keeping them as pets and tech them knew learning behaviors. That is also how we get our knowledge of them and understand what they do and how they do things.

    1. You are right Yanet. We should connect with animals on a higher level than we do now. ALL lives matter, even animals. I agree with you completely.

  3. I believe that the wilderness can be very peaceful and entertaining to youths. Peacefulness isn't found in the bounds of civilizations because there are so many problems that are involved throughout the civilization, but with nature it can be fun and relaxing. With nature, you can find your inner self by thinking and realizing what you want and need without any distractions.

    1. This something a lot of people forget and forgetting is one big mistake. It's a mistake because it is like forgetting your roots, it is forgetting your roots. Once you forget something as meaningful as your roots you are forgetting something that made you who you are.

  4. There are many answers that in the wilderness that civilization can not. For one, the wonders adaption, some might argue that we have in fact adapted to the worlds change, but what I am referring to is the ability to let go of the "weak" and move on to become "stronger". It might sound horrible, believe me I know, but I don't mean to kill them just to let them survive on their own without any help. The answer that I am trying to convey is their ability to rid themselves of certain diseases through adaption. The answer might sound horrible, but it is an answer that we all what to know.

  5. The wilderness offers you way more than just tv and games. It offers you a sense of passion, peace, and freedom that you will never get out of the civilization that tends only want to be indoors and get lazy and lazy. The wilderness is more than just wild animals and its a place to be free, to leave all your problems behind and feel good mentally and physically.

  6. Individuals are full of questions that correspond to themselves, but whether they have all the answers is another issue on its own. Answers to how a person is can be shown in the example if a person believed they were independent enough to be on their own. This would be a test to themselves to see if they can take care of themselves and also see if they didn't need to rely on always being surrounded by the same materialistic things they use to cope with in their everyday life.

  7. In the wilderness holds answers that civilization doesn't have for example there is no technology in the wild so that means people are not prisoned by screens because when you have to much screen time you tend to forget whats around us that humans are naturally raised in so when you take that away from yourself it also takes the roots of being human away too much technology can be bad for yourself i think because when im on my phone or computer to much i feel like just tired and my eyes start to hurt but when i spend the whole day away from screens i just feel energized and don't have keep rubbing my eyes so i think that the wilderness has a lot of answers like natural resources trees , fruits , these are answers to problems to human resources the wilderness has the answers

  8. The wilderness provides civilization with evidence of how life progresses through the biological cycle. Civilization is a community of the same species where they learn from social bonds. Wilderness of the environments gives civilization a home, resources, and a way of life to benefit civilization.

  9. I think that nature can provide you with the answer of who you really are. When you are out in the wild with no technology and no other person, but the animals there, you get to see who you really are. There is also no one there to judge you and tell you how you have to act there is no need for you to conform to society you can be your own person.

  10. I think you must be familiar with the outdoors in order to understand and properly care for it. Yes, you can hypothesize and read about what the wilderness may encompass but how will you ever find out without being in the midst of your research? The bounds of civilization lacks the depth of knowledge from a hands on experience or standpoint.

  11. A majority of humans are in love with technology and they just cant let go of it. They just continue to further its process and set a new whole era. I think that the wilderness has the answer to survive without technology. It has been like that throughout history, no inventions and no technology, just adaption.

  12. Wilderness has the nickname of 'Mother Earth' for a reason. Whatever reason you believe to be truth when it comes to the existence of us homo-sapiens as a species is up for debate on a separate topic, but one thing is certain. had we not received the resources the earth has given us we would not have survived, existed, and thrived as long as we have now. We have no knowledge of how the very first humans lived, though we can try to experience the roots of human interaction with the earth by simply venturing into the vast unknown of the green grasp its leafy hands reach across the world. Maybe they survived out of sheer luck. Maybe they developed the proper instincts that we have today, though ours are dulled to a useless blunt as we have everything automated to some degree and those instincts only manifest themselves when our lives are threatened, and even then those are the most basic instincts we have in common with any wild animal. After all when it all comes down to the bare bones, that's what we are. Wild animnals

  13. The wilderness is full of many amazing things that we do not experience anymore. Many of us have lost touch with the natural world and have become complacent. The wilderness offers us a chance to move past our limits and become better people as we could not rely on our advanced technology in the wilderness.

I agree! So many people spend too much time on their phones instead of taking care of the environment. If they took the time to clean up they would see how healthy and beautiful the earth is capable of being.

    2. I completely agree with you! People do in fact need to get away from the city at least every once in awhile in order to free the mind and soul. We often times take the true beauty of nature for granted.

    3. I agree with you. We shouldn't harm the Earth because it provides us with shelter. Without Earth we wouldn't even be alive.

    4. I agree we are so involve with our daily routine that we don't notice the beauty of nature. We need the Earth for our survival. When we hurt nature we are also hurting ourselves.

  15. Many people don't go outside their homes, because everything they need is in their tablets, phones, apps, and television. Society wants you to be glued to technology and not enjoy the outdoors. I think the wildness would eliminate technology, and a lot of people wouldn't be able survive in the wild because they don't have that comfort of their technology by their side.

    1. I agree there is a lot of people that don't go outside. More people should enjoy the outdoors. That's true a lot of people wouldn't survive in the wild.

    2. I agree. Technology is slowly taking over our lives and we're taking nature for granted because some of us won't even step a foot outside. Nature is free and is out there for us to enjoy.

  16. our society today is stuck on technology, lets be honest we can't live without it now, but that doesn't mean that the wilderness doesn't have many knowledge that you can learn from it that you cant learn in civilization. I believe that the wilderness hold better understandings about animals and how they survive the great outdoors. I also believe that nature can be a stress reliever and that no civilization can decrease stress, in fact i believe that civilization can cause it

  18. The wilderness is a place where you are allowed to be free. With civilization you are not allowed those benefits because you are restricted to many things. In the bounds of civilizations you must follow certain rules and laws while in the wilderness you are not presented these problems. The wilderness also has greater land to explore which causes the wilderness to have more answers.

    1. I agree with you. In order to fit in with society you would have to act like someone you're not just so you can blend in with others. When you're into the wild you can be yourself without being judged.

  20. Wilderness has a vast amount of knowledge that we have not learned or will not learn. The civilization will not be able to see it because we don't see everything in their natural habitat and but would rather have them locked up like in zoos just for us to see. If we take the time and see the animals in their natural habitat we will be able to get answers on some of our questions.

    1. I agree that the wilderness does have a lot of knowledge that the civilization might not even know about. I think seeing the animals outside in the wilderness will be better then seeing the animals in the zoo because you get to see how they live their real lives in their real natural habitat.

  21. I believe that being out in the wilderness provides us with an opportunity to explore nature and gain some experience when it comes to the outdoors. People spend a lot of time indoors using technology and being hermits, going outside once in a while I believe will benefit you and your actions more. The world is so beautiful, we, as people, need to go out more and explore our home!!

  22. Nature is the only place in the world in which you can truly be free so to speak. No place on the planet besides nature can provide that since nature doesn't block you in with rules that must be following everyday. You hunt, you fight, and you survive, then repeat.

    1. I agree with you Julio. Nobody can speak in a city, like they can in nature. There aren't any rules in nature which causes you to learn more.

    2. That is so true! We must do what we can survive and we learn that in the wilderness. It is something that has been embedded in us since the dawn of time.

  23. The wilderness holds knowledge that we now don't go looking for because are consumed with our phones and other technology. So the nature can hold the answers of distressing, finding beauty in everything, and many more questions we ask ourselves everyday. Nature gives us the calm we need to look inside of ourselves and find peace.

    1. I agree with Mia because as people indulge themselves on their phone, or television, computers, they are missing out on the wonders of nature. If you pay really close to all the amazing things out there you can maybe even find yourself and for once not worry about all the stress that's out there in the real world and, find peace.

    3. I agree with Mia in what she is saying because people are so indulged on their phones, television, and computers that they are missing out on all the wonders out in the outdoors. I feel as though someone would learn more out in nature then in some article and would help you forget about all the stress that the real world give you and help you find peace just for that moment, which is in my opinion amazing

  24. I believe that nature holds the answer of self-discovery. Within the bounds of civilization, you cannot discover who you truly are, because of all the influence society has on you. In nature, you are alone, free from influences, and you can discover who you truly are.

The outdoors , specifically the wilderness operates with set of rules that does not need to be written or told to work out. This includes animals, plants and earths rules.Natural selection, rules of gravity survival of the fittest, photosynthesis to name a few.All of these rules were established long before humans could even put them on a piece of paper let alone understand them; they have been in place longer than we can imagine.I suppose the wilderness allows humans to understand that not everything operates under our rules, civilization is a machine created by us that has many different working parts to it that we created on our own and have the power to change if we wanted to.Nature is a self made, non changing master piece that mothered every single living thing to ever exist, including humanity and is rapidly being over powered by the selfishness of one single specie's civilization.Nature provides a humbling experience that everyone should understand, not everything operates under our control.

  26. I think that the wilderness provides peace. Within there are no worries of the outside. It gives a separation between our civilization where we are attached to technology and a place where no such things are needed.

    1. I agree that wilderness provides peace however to what extent you think that we do not need technology is questionable. Technology has been the basis of lost of our advances in medicine so i dont not completely agree that technology isnt needed.

    2. I also agree that wilderness provides peace. I also believe technology is not very much needed because its just a distraction. But technology can also be very helpful.

  27. I think the wilderness holds many answers that we can't find in civilization. One thing for example is the animals and how they survive everyday as if it could be their last. I think that we, as humans, rely too much on everything that's around us whether it be our technology st each other and we forget how the little creatures of the forest only rely on each other, if they have to, and their surroundings and instincts. We all need to take a step back from our so technology based world and start thinking of how we would be living without it. Being within nature makes you realize how much you have and when you're out camping somewhere it makes you feel how disconnected you are, which isn't something we should feel to begin with.

    1. I agree with you! I think it's very important that we take a step back and realize exactly what we have and what we might not even have when technology isn't a resource for survival. I totally agree with you in seeing how animals survive how they depend on their surrounding and their instincts. Something civilization should work on.

    2. I agree with you. Humans take things for granted without even realizing it. We don't know how good we have it until it's gone.

The wilderness allows your mind to be at ease and gets rid of all of your worries. It also takes you away from the busy city life and provides peacefulness. You can discover new things not only about yourself, but also about wild life, when spending time in the great outdoors.

  30. Exploring nature allows for an individual person to learn about animals, plants and insects in a way that they never would be able to in a fast paced city. Everything from the roaring sound of a waterfall to getting up close to an intricately colored butterfly can spark an inspiring feeling with in the person that can only be achieved by experiencing in person. Whether you want to get out and exercise or you just need a place to clear your head and think, there is something for everyone in nature.

  31. I agree with your ideals in that nature allows for a chance for people to find themselves. We all should take a few moments every now and then to simply unplug and go out outside.

  32. Well first of all the wilderness teaches us about survival of the fittest that humans have learned since dinosaurs were around. Then when technology started spreading, it starting blinding us from the nature around us. That and people do not really think before trashing the land we walk on because we hire people for that.

  33. I believe that the wilderness holds a lot of answers that civilization does not have it allows you to be yourself and to free your mind, make you feel at ease. Being out in the wilderness can help you find your inner self make you get in touch of your spiritual thoughts and views of things. Getting in touch of the animals as well can also be a eye opening in the wilderness making it a nice way to see how nature takes its steps.

  34. I think that nature can provide you with the answer of who you really are and who are your real friends. When you are out in the wild with no phone service and no other person except fro the beautiful nature and animals you get to see who you really are. You also realize who is worried about you and your well being. If anybody is really looking for you, they will find you.

  35. I think that wilderness can provide lots of answers to questions we can not believe to even fathom. Although the most important question and the most crucial question that can and will be answered is how to survive, but not only that, to also to live.

  36. It has been like that throughout history, no inventions and no technology, just adaption. I feel like many more things can be discovered in nature then civilization. I also feel like you can learn to survive more in nature than you would in a city.

  37. The wilderness can help us reconnect with ourselves and find answers to unanswered questions we have.We are often surrounded by technology and spend most of our day staring at phone or computer screen being influenced by society, we don't get the chance to think for ourselves. The wilderness offers tranquility and a sense of peace.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The wilderness has always provided us information with how it works automatically without our help. The way animals live has already gave us answers about species that live in the wild. Plants and the ecosystem has already figured itself out. Something humans got the answers to is to leave nature alone and let it be the way its supposed to be. For the most part humans comply with this but ruining nature by taking animals out of their own habitat and cutting down trees is something that needs to be stopped because we know that it isn't right and nature already gave us that answer. -Vanessa Reyes

  40. I agree with you 100%. We rely so much on all of the new technology for survival that we don't even realize what's out there in the world. Because of technology, most of us wouldn't even know how to survive without it in nature.
